Galerie Patrick Seguin London is pleased to announce a “Carte Blanche” exhibition in collaboration with Campoli Presti gallery. For this show, Campoli Presti invited two artists they represent, Americans Liz Deschenes and Cheyney Thompson, who chose to set their own works in dialogue with Jean Prouvé’s. In the words of the Campoli Presti, “the exhibition will take three mobile structures (paintings, photographs, and architectural elements) to explore changes in volume suggested by the analytical division of light and shadow. From very different, medium-specific standpoints, the works explore imperceptible transitions of light to reflect on the materiality and the historical function of the work at play”. In conjunction with these pieces by Deschenes and Thompson the exhibition will feature an aluminum Sun Shutter that JEAN PROUVÉ designed as an adaptable climate system for an apartment building in Conakry (Guinea) in 1953.
