Asked for a group stand, renewing and widening the 1928 avant-garde group idea. This was refused by the Decorative Artists Committee. Charlotte Perriand then resigned, followed by the whole group, who later founded the Union of Modern Artists (\u201cUnion des artistes modernes\u201d: UAM).<\/p>\n<p><strong data-eusoft-scrollable-element=\"1\">1929<\/strong><br \/>\nAt the Salon d\u2019Automne.<br \/>\nLe Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand presented: House fittings, sets of compartments, seats, tables. This furniture was later edited by Thonet, with each piece once sold bearing an identification symbol which read \u201cThonet-Le Corbusier-Pierre Jeanneret-Charlotte Perriand\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-eusoft-scrollable-element=\"1\">1930<\/strong><br \/>\nOfficial creation of the Union des artistes modernes: UAM.<br \/>\nFirst exhibition in June at the Mus\u00e9e des Arts D\u00e9coratifs, with designers from all spheres of activity, from architecture to objects.<br \/>\nLaying-out of the Editor\u2019s office, La Semaine, Paris.<br \/>\nCharlotte Perriand fitted out a music room for Jean Rivier, a composer.<br \/>\nShe left her studio on place Saint-Sulpice to settle in the Boulevard du Montparnasse.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-eusoft-scrollable-element=\"1\">1931<\/strong><br \/>\nExhibition in Cologne: Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand presented a diorama of the Plan Voisin with various furniture elements: chaise longue, sets of compartments placed on a carpet-manifesto.<br \/>\nAt the same time, she joined the AEAR (Association of Revolutionary Students and Artists; Secretary-General: Jean Nicolas, an Ecole Boulle alumnus).<\/p>\n<p><strong data-eusoft-scrollable-element=\"1\">1930-1933<\/strong><br \/>\nTravel to the USSR. Visited the building site of Centrosoyus, the Central Cooperatives Bureau in Moscow.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-eusoft-scrollable-element=\"1\">1932-1937<\/strong><br \/>\nPreliminaries to the 1937 International Exhibition.<br \/>\nAs early as 1932, Le Corbusier suggested as a program an international exhibition on habitat, opening an era of large-scale work \u00e0 la Haussmann, as a first section of the great East-West \u201cbackbone\u201d of Parisian urban design. This program was never implemented.<br \/>\nFrom 1935 to 1936, Charlotte Perriand carried out studies and research work in view of a group action involving all members of CIAM and UAM, mentioning the sites and nature of their participation.<br \/>\n\u2013 For the Kellerman bastion in the fortifications of Paris, a project for a Dwelling Unit (\u201cUnit\u00e9 d\u2019habitation\u201d) to be built by Le Corbusier and co-workers;<br \/>\n\u2013 Project for a House of Young Artists and Technicians: \u201cYouth 37 Project\u00bb;<br \/>\n\u2013 The \u201cBazar\u00bb: Francis Jourdain wanted to take stock of daily items on the market, by selecting the most interesting ones.<br \/>\nThese projects were not implemented \u2013 they were not taken into account by the curators in charge of the 1937 exhibition.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-eusoft-scrollable-element=\"1\">1933<\/strong><br \/>\nParticipated in the IVth Congress of CIAM on board the Patrix II, between Athens and Marseilles; on the following theme: \u201cTowards a functional city \u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-eusoft-scrollable-element=\"1\">1935<\/strong><br \/>\nAt the Brussels International Exhibition.<br \/>\nMaurice Dufr\u00e8ne, in charge of the French section, gave Louis Sognot, Ren\u00e9 Herbst &amp; Charlotte Perriand the necessary funds for the presentation of the House of the Young Man. Charlotte Perriand presented a living room with a selection of Flambo metal filing cabinets, to which she added seats and tables of her own creation, as well as a photomontage on poverty in Paris.<br \/>\nIn the meanwhile she carried on various research works on: family hostels, mountain hotels, week-end houses.<br \/>\nAt the Ministry of Agriculture: waiting room for the Office of the Cabinet Minister, Georges Monnet, who asked her to combine and express graphically, for that room, statistics concerning the most important problems facing agriculture, and to highlight the main points of the Popular Front\u2019s agricultural platform.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-eusoft-scrollable-element=\"1\">1937 <\/strong><br \/>\nWithin the International Exhibition, the UAM obtained its own area, &amp; built its pavilion, wherein:<br \/>\n\u2013 Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand presented a prototype for a sanitary cabin, intended for hotels and manufactured by Jacob Delafon;<br \/>\n\u2013 Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, Andr\u00e9 Tournon, engineer, presented: the Refuge bivouac with l\u2019Aluminium fran\u00e7ais, within the framework of high mountains equipments, as a reaction against the Refuge Vallot.<br \/>\n\u2013 Charlotte Perriand presented several collapsible or combinatory seats.
